About Paddles the Platypus Children's Story Book
This Australian animal children's book is about a platypus mother to be. Paddles is searching for the right place to lay her eggs. Their habitat is the eastern and south-eastern coast of Australia and Tasmania.
While Paddles is swimming downstream, she comes across much other unique Australian wildlife. Book characters of EVA BOOKS are making an appearance. They are: Cassy the cassowary from Cassy's Tale, Bobby the Tree Kangaroo and Croaky the green tree frog from Where is Croaky?
Details about Paddles the Platypus
Paddles the platypus is swimming in the creek. The cassowaries from Cassy's Tale are watching from the bank of the creek. Clearly, they are curious about the unique mammal.
Paddles is spotted by Bobby the Tree Kangaroo. He is wondering about the unusual animal. Bobby is thinking that it might be another tree kangaroo.
Downstream, Croaky is swimming across the creek to join his friend Gilbert. A ripple in the water takes the green tree frog by surprise. A back of a furry animal appears. What could it be? Both frogs are characters from Where is Croaky?
Further on, Paddles is climbing onto the bank near some sulphur crested cockatoos. They are also curious about the unusual animal. It has webbed feet like a duck, a furry tail like a tree kangaroo and a broad body like a crocodile. Paddles apologises for disturbing the birds. She explains that she must dig a burrow for her eggs. Subsequently, they are surprised that mammals lay eggs.
Later on, Paddles is searching for food. She needs energy for digging her burrow. A curious eel and a long-neck turtle are watching her.
Finally, the platypus mother is curled up in her dug burrow. She has laid two tiny eggs.
After a while, the grown up babies are swimming in the creek. Some fish and a turtle join the proud mother admiring her young babies.
The Platypus Children's Story Book has stunning colourful illustrations of the unique Australian rainforest.
